Starting in January 2024, Tokai Tokyo Securities implemented the new NISA system, a tax incentive program designed to support individual asset formation.
NISA accounts allow investments in listed stocks and mutual funds to be tax-exempt from sales gains, dividends, and distributions, which are typically taxed at 20.315%. The revised NISA system features expanded investment limits and an indefinite tax-exempt holding period, promoting flexible, lifelong asset growth.
Key advantages of the NISA system include tax-free profits on sales and dividends, the ability to start investing with as little as 1,000 yen, and a wide range of investment options. The annual investment limit is set at 3.6 million yen, divided into a Tsumitate investment quota of 1.2 million yen and a growth investment quota of 2.4 million yen.
The total tax-exempt holding limit is 18 million yen, with a maximum of 12 million yen for growth investments. Additionally, if investments are sold, the tax-exempt holding limit can be reused for new investments within the annual limit from the following year onwards.
